Cofunds poaches from Axa Wealth for new hires

Cofunds has raided Axa Wealth for a series of new hires across its account management and platform consulting roles.

Former Architas investment development director Mark Coles joins as head of business partnerships, and will work on Cofunds’ key accounts.

Former Axa Wealth head of business consultancy Liz Pemberton also joins as head of regional platform consultancy.

Steve Snell has joined as strategic partnership manager, and was previously business development director at Axa Wealth. Phil Hurdman and Nick Casey have also joined as strategic partnership managers managing regional accounts. They join from PruProtect and Aviva respectively.

Cofunds distribution director Andy Coleman says: “Our new appointments not only strengthen the team but also ensure we are in a strong position to support our clients at this key time of significant regulatory change.”

Coleman says advisers have responded well to the platform’s self-directed proposition, with 300 advisers using it to develop an online direct service with £500m assets under administration.

He adds: “Our strong team will now be able to help even more advisers.”

Cofunds was acquired by Legal and General in March. The deal saw several members of senior management step down, including chief executive Chris Last, who was replaced by David Hobbs.
