Cofunds merges retail and institutional fund teams

Cofunds has appointed Graham Venn as head of commercial and Britt Holland-Ellice as head of fund manager relations while merging its retail and institutional fund relations teams.

Holland-Ellice replaces former fund group relations head Michelle Woodburn who left the platform in July. Holland-Ellice was formerly in charge of fund relations for the institutional business.

Venn replaces Russell Lancaster as head of commercial who left Cofunds in June 2012.

The merger of the two teams creates a total of nine people working with fund groups at Cofunds.

Previously Cofunds had two separate teams working with fund managers on institutional and retail.

Cofunds head of marketing operating Stephen Wynne-Jones says: “With the move towards clean share classes and the requirements of the FCA’s platform paper on rebates, we thought it made sense to merge the institutional and retail fund relations teams.”

Thomas and Thomas Financial Services managing director Darren Lloyd Thomas says: “I think all platforms are making changes to their teams to try and improve the service for the end user and Cofunds is no different. All platforms seem to be dealing with the mess the regulator has left them in.”
