Cofunds expects increase in structured products on Platform

Cofunds has revealed it is expecting to see an increasing number of structured products coming on to its platform.

Cofunds director of fund manager relations Russell Lancaster says that following the launch of BNP Paribas privalto stabiliser fund, he expects other providers to follow suit and launch structured products within Oiecs.

Lancaster admits that IFA confidence in structured products has been dented by uncertainty surrounding Lehman-backed products, but he believes that with education, IFAs may be reassured over the safety of certain guarantees.

“Paribas have taken the market a little bit by surprise with the speed at which they have launched to the market and I think there will be others.”
