Club together for film EIS

A film company is offering an enterprise investment scheme in the hope of raising 2m for its new production, with investment starting at 5,000.

Formosa Films is looking to create a blueprint of alternate British film financing, showing how EISs can be used to raise the capital. The money will be used to produce Clubbed, written by Bafta award winner Geoff Thompson. As well as participation in the profits of the film and the tax benefits available, Formosa Films says investors will get the chance to become involved in the film-making process.Producer Martin Carr says: “Formosa Films wants to revolutionise the way that films are made in Britain following the success of films financed through tax breaks.Burlington Associates financial adviser Ian Chapman says: “Formosa Film’s Clubbed project has a compelling list of ingredients that made us sit up and take notice. We have seen a lot of single purpose EIS feature films and this one stands head and shoulders above the rest.”
