Clerical teleconferences help advisers with A-Day preparations

Clerical Medical is holding teleconferences with IFAs to help them to prepare for A-Day without leaving their offices.

Advisers can dial in to conference calls or have one-to-one conferences.

The firm says feedback from the sessions has been positive and advisers have been able to use the sessions to take relevant tests, giving them compliance clearance to advise on higher-level pension arrangements. The sessions have regular times and feature downloadable PowerPoint presentations, which are explained to the advisers.

Intermediary sales director Keith Gilmour says: “We have added this facility to help financial advisers understand the opportunities and technical issues of A-Day. By using teleconferencing, we are able to reduce their downtime to a minimum but can still give personal advice on any queries they might have.”

Thinc Destini director of research and development David Cartright says: “We are very impressed by the facility and the high level of technical expertise available. The format works extremely well and the advisers who have used it are very positive about the convenience of training at their own workplace.”
