Until now, Clerical has focused on the life and pension market and ISA investment but the product range will now also be available as mutual funds.
The core investment proposition includes 36 Clerical Medical funds, of which 18 are new, categorised by risk as either ‘foundation’, ‘escalator’ or ‘accelerator’.
In addition to the new fund range, Clerical has launched Portfolio Architect, a web based modelling tool to help IFAs allocate the appropriate risk profile of their client to the portfolio.
Clerical Medical appointed a new investment committee to design the new fund mandates and select their respective managers. The seven-strong committee includes former Sesame boss and Just Retirement COO Patrick Gale and former CEO of Morley Fund Managers Keith Jones.
Clerical Medical managing director John van Der Wielen says: “The reinvention of our proposition has been going on for the past 18 months. We’ve been a traditional life and pensions provider and this is our first step into mutual funds. It is an exciting time to be launching 18 new funds into the current market.”
