Clerical Medical launches on-line ready-reckoner for pension transfers

Clerical Medical has launched a ready-reckoner facility on its website for IFAs to calculate the critical yield on potential pension scheme transfers.

The on-line calculator allows IFAs to work out whether it is worth transferring a client&#39s existing pension benefits to another pensions provider.

The calculator provides the IFA a critical yield figure within seven minutes.

It is designed to eliminated the time consuming process used to decide whether it is worth progressing with a pension transfer.

The on-line facility allows IFAs to input their client details, while &#39intelligent screens&#39 prompt them if any vital information is missing.

The calculator is based on Clerical Medical&#39s existing &#39Transfer Value Analysis&#39 but provides a quicker more immediate guide on whether to proceed with further pension transfer investigation.

Clerical Medical&#39s sales development executive David Flint says: &#34Because the critical yield is such an important determinant of whether or not to recommend a pension transfer, this calculator should prove to be of real benefit to IFAs and their clients.
