Clerical Medical enjoys record figures in 1998

Clerical Medical the IFA channel of Halifax increased its new business by 64 per cent to £2.7bn.


Total retail business increased 31 per cent to £1,464m from £1,117m. Income from single premiums from individual pensions grew 44 per cent to £318m from £221m. Annual premiums dropped 20 per cent to £14m from £18m.


For group pensions annual premiums increased 29 per cent to £24m from £19m and single premiums were up 17 per cent to £99m from £84.
