Clerical backing for Celtic Connections

Clerical Medical is sponsoring the Celtic Connections festival of music and culture in Glasgow from January 16 to February 3.

Celtic Connections, which last year attracted 80,000 visitors, includes traditional music and Celtic-influenced jazz, dance and fusion which is intended to give a more modern slant to the event.

The event also tries to encourage new talent and awards are presented to the six best acts at each year&#39s Open Stage competition.

Finalists will perform in support slots at the following year&#39s festival.

Continued sponsorship of the festival helps it act as a tourist generator and image builder for Glasgow.

Clerical Medical head of sales Graeme Riddoch says: “The focus of corporate sponsorship at Clerical Medical is the arts and the company&#39s commitment to this is evident in its continuing sponsorship of Celtic Connections.”
