Clerical aids IFAs with guide for employers and trustees

Clerical Medical has published advice to help IFAs prepare for the anticipated rush towards contract-based group per-sonal pension and stakehol-der schemes after A-Day.

Ninety-five per cent of intermediaries highlighted new trustee responsibilities as the main driver for change among smaller occupational trust- based schemes, according to Clerical research.

The firm says employers and trustees of occupational pension schemes should consider with their adviser whether the scheme still meets their original needs and objectives.

Clerical’s support material is designed to help employers and trustees identify the aff-ect of changes and consider the options while guiding them through the decision-making process. The guidance includes a scheme review and planning process route map, notes on legislative change and implications for trustees and advice considerations for trustees and employers.

Intermediary channel manager Martyn Nethercott says: “A-Day provides employers and trustees with an ideal opportunity to review their arrangements with their adv- isers and ensure that their scheme remains cost-effective for their requirements.”
