Type: Capital-protected bond

Aim: Growth linked to the performance of the FTSE 100 or Nikkei 225 indices

Minimum-maximum investment:5,000-no maximum, Isa 3,000-7,000

Term: Six years

Return: UK enhanced growth option – 30% of original investment at end of year three if FTSE 100 index grows by at least 30%, otherwise 130% of the growth in the index at the end of the term. Japan enhanced growth pption – 60% of original investment at end of year three if the Nikkei 225 index grows by at least 30% otherwise 200% of the growth in the index at the end of the term

Guarantee: UK enhanced growth option – Original capital returned in full regardless of performance of index, Japan enhanced growth option Original capital returned in full provided the index does not fall by 40% or more without recovering to at least its starting value

Closing date: February 18, 2005, February 4, 2005 for Pep/Isa transfers
