CII gives Scottish Widows’ academy CPD accreditation

Scottish Widows’ Online Academy has been awarded continuing professional development accreditation status by the Chartered Insurance Institute for financial planning training.

The accreditation allows Widows’ trainers to train on behalf of the CII.

The Academy, developed in partnership with the CII, provides free access to study planning tools, a resource centre and subsidised CII course material and exam entry through its Professional Adviser Study System.

Scottish Widows says advisers that used PASS achieved results that exceed the national average by 26 per cent last year.

Scottish Widows head of market relations George Andrew says: “The introduction of additional exams in July is welcomed as the numbers seeking to sit exams increases. We’ve always had a strong heritage when it comes to training and development and with access to study maps, past papers and e-learning as well as the opportunity for face to face training through our workshops, PASS provides a clear, structured and cohesive study framework for IFAs.”
