Cigna Insurance Services appoints chief executive

Cigna Insurance Services has appointed Susan Stevenson as its chief executive with immediate effect.

Stevenson has been chief executive of Cigna’s Hong Kong business since 2011, where she managed a portfolio of life and health insurance products across both direct and intermediary channels.

She joined Cigna in 2009 as global chief marketing officer for its health, life and accident business, and prior to that worked for American Express for 18 years.

Cigna Insurance Services rebranded from FirstAssist Insurance Services in September 2013 and provides protection, health and accident insurance, travel insurance and legal protection products.

Stevenson replaces interim chief executive Alistair Hardie, who was part of the FirstAssist team and led the business following the acquisition.

Stevenson says: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead Cigna Insurance Services at such an exciting time for the business. The opportunities in the UK market for affinity insurance services are growing.

“Affinity insurance is a competitive marketplace and I am looking forward to embracing this challenge.”
