Child and Edwards join Vertex board

Vertex has appointed two divisional directors to sit on its main operating board to continue its focus on growth within the financial services sector.

Vertex Life, Pensions and Distribution managing director David Child and Vertex Mortgages and Banking managing director David Edwards will join the eight-strong Vertex main board.

The board, led by chief executive Richard Graham, will see the pair assume their roles with immediate effect.

Child is also managing director of The Exchange, which he joined in 2003 as chief operating officer.

Previously, David was commercial director at Assureweb where he had overall responsibility for all aspects of business development, product provider relationships and IFA marketing. Before this, he held a number of directorships within the DBS adviser network, focusing on IT and compliance.

Edwards joined Marlborough Stirling in 1996 and was part of the senior management team that lead the business through its float in 2001.

The business was later acquired by Vertex in 2003. Prior to Vertex, David held senior management posts with the Nationwide Building Society and PA Consulting Group.

Richard Graham says: “I am delighted to welcome both Davids to the company’s main board. We recognise the fact that Vertex benefits from a market leading formula in the financial services sector with The Exchange, 1st and our extensive mortgage processing and servicing capabilities. Our plans are to further grow our capability and market position in these key markets and the expertise and capability of both men will ensure we have the vital main board representation they deserve.”

Child says: “This is an exciting time for the financial services market and in particular the adviser sector. Even in the past few months, we have won some excellent new accounts and launched more innovative services for both our portal and back-office clients. Having this new role on the Vertex main board is a great testament to the united commitment we share in driving forward further success and I am delighted to take on this new responsibility.”
