In what seems to be an increasing era of despondency, after 20 years in the industry, I am motivated to put pen to paper – not to moan but to offer praise for exceptional service.
A scenario of events follows:
Faxed mortgage application on Wednesday.
Paper application received by building society on Thursday.
Valuer instructed on Friday.
Valuation performed Monday.
Offer received Tuesday.
Funds released Thursday.
Just over a week from application to release of funds is exceptional service and worthy of recognition.
I even received a telephone call at 7.30 on the Wednesday evening from the lending operations manager to talk through some of the aspects of the application.
Cheshire Building Society has achieved a level of service which in the current market I find increasingly rare, whether it be building societies or any of the major life offices.
There are many institutions that could take a leaf out of the Cheshire's book. It was the first time that we have used them – it will not be the last.
