Fixed term: Until February 28, 2009

Fixed rate: 5.49%

Minimum loan: £25,000

Maximum loan: Up to 85% of valuation subject to a maximum of £1,499,999

Income multiples: Rental income must be at least 125% of mortgage
repayments or based on client’s income plus 50% of rental income

Conditions: Up to nine properties allowed within a total maximum of £5m, free valuation for remortgages on properties valued less than £2m

Redemption fee: 3% of the amount repaid in year one, 2% in year two

UK pension system ranked sixth in EU

Aon Consulting has ranked the UK pension system as the sixth-best in the European Union for the second year running because of the strength of the private pension system and higher average retirement age. Denmark was top followed by Estonia and Ireland.
