Chelsea makes new board appointment

Chelsea Building Society has made a new board appointment.

General manager and secretary Peter Ford joins the board as resources director with effect from 1 January 2007.

Ford has worked for Chelsea for 17 years and has been part of the executive team since 1 January 2003. He is a chartered accountant and will be responsible for the staff, communications, legal, business change and IT functions.

Commenting on joining the board Ford says: “My new role actively supports our commitment to constantly improving customer service by aligning many of our support functions. It’s a new challenge and I look forward to it immensely”.

Director and chief executive Richard Hornbrook says: “I am keen that we continue to look very closely at our business to identify every opportunity where we can add value to our customers. We are recognised as a hugely successful organisation that makes sound decisions for the benefit of members. I am keen to ensure that we remain within the small group of Societies who consistently demonstrate this success.”
