Chelsea account deal aids Shelter

Chelsea Building Societyis supporting the homeless by donating £1 to

charity each time someone opens a new instant access investment account.

For every Call-Direct Account opened until September 16, the society will

donate£1 to Shelter.

The account pays a variable rate of 6.8 per cent, with a guarantee that

the rate will not fall below the Bank of England base rate until October


Chelsea is also encour-aging customers to sendused postage stamps to

theGuide Dogs for the Blind Association.

Investors in the society&#39s new account can make daily withdrawals of up to

£200 using Link machines.

Spokesman Darren Stevens says: “We are delighted to help these charities

and to highlight the very valuable work they do. Every person who enquires

about a Chelsea Call-Direct Account in the first three months will receive

a leaflet which introduces the charities and gives them the opportunity of

adding their own personal support.”

Shelter director Chris Holmes says: “This partnership will raise vital

funds for our work. Shelter believes everyone has the right to a decent,

safe and afford-able home and the support of organisations like Chelsea

Building Society help us achieve this.”
