Chase Fleming Asset Management is targeting investors looking for long term growth with the introduction of another offshore style fund.
The FF-US strategic value fund will invest in undervalued US stocks. Stocks will not be selected simply because they are cheap. They might be temporarily out of favour because the economic climate of the time favours something else or because the market has not discovered the growth potential of these stocks.
Growth in the US has been exceptional of late and there are question marks over whether this growth can be sustained for much longer. Consequently, some investors will be wary of investing in the US, particularly with the uncertainty over the presidential election in full flow.
The fund is most suitable for investors at the higher end of the risk scale who think value stocks are more reassuring than more speculative US investments.
According to Standard & Poor's the Fleming American A fund is ranked 89 out of 103 funds based on £1,000 invested on a bid-to-bid basis with gross income reinvested over three years to November 11, 2000.
