Caris conundrum

Calling all wordsmiths (apart from us, that is). Peter Hargreaves has presented readers with a linguistic challenge.

Hargreaves is offering £100 for the best alternative acronym for Caris – Customer Agreed Remuneration for Intermediary Services.

Suggestions so far include Consumers Abandoned as Remuneration of Independents Swindled and Committee Abhor Remuneration for Independent Services.

Hargreaves says even if you do not want him to know your identity, Money Marketing will keep it from him and you will still get the money via us. How fair is that?”


7IM in move to Lyxor

7IM has replaced the iShares FTSE 100 exchange traded fund with the new lower-cost Lyxor ETF FTSE 100 in its multi-manager portfolios.

CML urges N Ireland to tackle housing

The Council of Mortgage Lenders’ Northern Ireland chairman Derek Wilson has urged the NI assembly to tackle the shortage of affordable homes. He says the assembly should implement some of the reforms proposed in Sir John Semple’s report on affordable housing such as Homebuy.
