Capital & Regional join Reita group

Capital & Regional are the latest member to join the Reits and Quoted Property Group.

The co-investing real estate asset manager manages property assets for funds in which it holds a significant stake.

There are now 32 companies that are members of the group behind the Reita.org website and awareness campaign.

The Group now includes nine of the biggest quoted property companies, 10 fund managers, the LSE, 10 merchant banks and advisers, the British Property Federation and the Investment Property Forum.

Chairman Patrick Sumner says: “We are delighted that Capital & Regional has joined the group and will really value their input and support. Interest in the campaign is growing fast now and we welcome the support this new partner will bring to the team.”

Capital & Regional chief executive Martin Barber says: “Reita is clearly going to be influential in the development of an important new source of equity for the property industry. Capital & Regional wants to make its contribution to the debate, and be in a position to seize opportunities as they arise.”

Investec brings Euro fund in house

Investec has dropped Black Rock and is bringing its European fund in house, to be run by Nigel Hankin and Ben Williams. The fund has been run by BlackRock’s Albert Morillo since 2002.
