Capita life and pensions chief Parkinson departs

Capita life and pensions managing director Steve Parkinson has left the firm. He left around two months ago but no announcement was made at the time.

Capita says Parkinson’s duties will be taken on by the current management team. Capita life and pensions is led by divisional director Stephen Sharp.

A Capita spokeswoman says: “Steve left to pursue other challenges earlier this year. We wish him every success in the future.”

Parkinson was Lincoln Financial Group’s business development director before joining Capita in January 2003.

Brunning Newman Houghton director David Brunning says: “Given the tremendous importance of outsourcing and the growing trend of firms taking up that option, I think any change in senior management is unwelcome, particularly at a firm like Capita which is one of the main players in this area.”

In April, Capita announced its acquisition of Bluefin Corporate Consulting in a deal worth £50m.

Axa retained the Bluefin trading name. Bluefin’s other operations, including Bluefin Insurance Group and Bluefin Personal Consulting, which provides wealth management services, were not part of the transaction.
