Canada Life offers Best Doctors scheme to group IP clients

Canada Life Group Insurance is now offering its group income protection clients access to its ‘Best Doctors’ scheme.

Best Doctors helps people who have been diagnosed with a serious medical condition by identifying the most appropriate specialists in that condition, who check the diagnosis and make treatment recommendations.

Canada Life says scheme members and their families having access to the best medical information on their condition without having to leave home.

This allows them to make informed decisions regarding their treatment options in conjunction with their existing doctors. It also benefits employers by helping employees return to a productive lifestyle sooner.

The scheme has a database of over 50,000 doctors worldwide, voted by other physicians as being the best in their fields.

Canada Life managing director Ian McMullan says: “Dealing with a serious illness is very difficult for individuals and their families especially when they have concerns about the level and type of care they are receiving. Therefore we are pleased to launch Best Doctors to our group IP clients. This service provides individuals with information and advice on their condition from the most appropriate specialists worldwide whilst at the same time giving them guidance and support.”
