Canada Life adds to its eBusiness portal functionality

Canada Life Group Insurance (CLGI) has launched two new modules to its internet-based eBusiness portal, CLASS, called eRenewal and eAdmin.

CLGI’s eRenewal allows intermediaries to renew all of their existing CLASS eSchemes online typically within 15 minutes. CLASS immediately delivers the renewal pack, including full and accurate scheme accounts to the intermediary’s eDocuments folder. The renewal pack also includes the scheme policy documents and an eQuote for the forthcoming year if the unit rate has expired.

The eAdmin service enables intermediaries to request amendments to their eSchemes online via CLASS. Ian McMullan, managing director, CLGI says: “By allowing intermediaries to renew their eSchemes online they can complete the whole process with minimal time or cost implications. By using this method to place small to medium sized group risk business, intermediaries save on time and administration costs, allowing them to offer a fuller and more efficient service to their clients.

The Citizens Advice Bureau believes lenders must be made responsible for some of the Government’s measures. Chief executive David Harker says: “Lenders must show forbearance, treat people in difficulties sympathetically and negotiate reasonable, affordable repayment arrangements with borrowers, ensuring they take possession action only as a last resort.”
