Call for FSA monster to be tamed

A right of centre thinktank has this week published a report accusing the

FSA of being the least accountable Government institution created since the

Second World War.

The publication, called Leviathan At Large, compiled by the Centre for

Policy Studies, says the FSA can do virtually whatever it likes.

The editor of the report, Tim Knox, is adamant that those wrong- fully

subjected to an FSA investigation must be able to seek compensation in

court.

Knox says: “The courts must be able to award damages. Even rumours of an

investigation will affect business. Companies must be able to sue the FSA

for damages.”
