Burrows offers annuity alerts

Morestead director Billy Burrows is setting up a free website and offering

IFAs with email alerts when annuity rates change.

The site, www.askannuity, aims to help IFAs who do not specialise

in the annuity market to offer the best advice to clients after or at


Burrows has already signed up a number of big annuity providers, including

Canada Life, Legal & General and Standard Life, to offer comprehensive

information on the latest rates as well as guides to with-profits, fixed,

impaired life and other annuities.

He says in the past life offices may not have offered non-specialist IFAs

the easy access to up-to-date information they need to ensure they are

providing best advice.

The latest web launch complements Burrows&#39 existing annuity site for


The IFA service goes live at the end of this month but advisers can

register from this week. It is hoped that in the longer term life offices

will sponsor certain areas of the site to support its ongoing development.

Burrows says: “The difficulty in the past has been that IFAs outside the

specialists who only deal with annuities occasionally have not known where

to turn to get the best rates and find out about the various annuities

offered in the market.

“It is hoped that this IFA site will help provide them with better and

more comprehensive information.”
