Bupa quotes get hearts beating

Bupa has gone online with a new service for IFAs aimed at providing full private medical insurance cover for their clients in less than 20 minutes.

The private insurer says its system will be much quicker than the traditional paper-based provision of cover.

The site went live on January 29 and allows IFAs to provide immediate cover, including pre-existing conditions.

The website produces a quotation in three easy steps, using information about the customer&#39s personal details, medical background and choice of lifestyle packages or payment options.

Bupa says each adviser using the website will be provided with a unique password that allows information about customers to be stored and accessed at a later date.

To help launch the service, Bupa is running a press and TV advertising campaign throughout February and March.

Bupa sales director Stephen Flanagan says: “This online system has been designed specifically for intermediaries to sell Bupa Heartbeat. It will allow them to enrol new customers in a matter of minutes with minimal administration.”
