Brunswick quits as Jupiter&#39s PR agency

PR agency Brunswick has resigned its account with fund manager Jupiter

following the departure of chief executive John Duffield.

Duffield resigned from Jupiter after a dispute with German parent company

Commerzbank.

Brunswick, which held the Jupiter account for eight years, had a close relationship with Duffield and was concerned about a possible conflict of interest with the new management after his resignation.

Bell Pottinger Financial was drafted in by Commerzbank to handle PR for

its buyout of the last quarter of Jupiter&#39s shares and the management

restructure.

However, the account is temporary and it remains unclear who will succeed

Brunswick to the Jupiter account on a full-time basis. Jupiter is expected

to put out the account to tender in the near future.

Jupiter has been a one-man show since it was founded by Duffield 14 years

ago but Commerzbank is now imposing a new management committee of four

executives.

It will now be run by joint chief executives Edw-ard Bonham-Carter and

Jonathan Carey.
