Brown rules out PMI tax cuts

Chancellor Gordon Brown has ruled out using tax breaks to incentivise people to take out private medical insurance.

Speaking to the BBC&#39s Today Programme this morning, Brown reaffirmed the Government&#39s position towards the role of the private sector in improving the provision of healthcare.

He said raising taxes to further fund the NHS was the answer not giving tax breaks to the rich.
