Brown reappointed as Consumer Panel chairman

The FSA has announced Financial Services Consumer Panel chairman Colin Brown has been re-appointed for a further 15 months until March 31, 2004.

The Panel&#39s vice chairman Ann Foster has seen her appointment extended until the same date, at which point she will take over as chairman of the panel until March, 2006.

Additionally, Panel members Richard Smethurst and Dave Watts have had their terms extended for a further two years from January 1, 2003, when they were supposed to expire, until December 31, 2004.

Both Brown and Foster have been on the panel since the beginning of 2001.

FSA chairman Howard Davies says: “I am delighted that Colin and Ann are staying on for a further period. They have provided dedicated and effective leadership for the Panel since their appointment at the start of 2001. It is excellent that Ann will be taking over as Chairman providing continuity of leadership for a long while ahead.”
