Brooks Macdonald hires ex-New Star Thompson

Brooks Macdonald Asset Management has appointed former New Star fund manager Toby Thompson as investment management director.

Thompson has previously managed funds at Newton and Eagle Star Investment Managers.

He added: “I was also attracted by the opportunity to be involved in all three strands of private client investment management: managing clients’ money, client service and research.”

Nick Holmes, joint managing director at Brooks Macdonald, said: “We are continuing to expand the number of investment managers to cater for the support we continue to receive from our professional advisers.

“Maintaining our service standards to clients and their advisers is a key component of our success.”
