Britannia FTSE bond guarantees cash even if market tumbles

Britannia Building Society is offering a five-year equity bond which

guarantees the full return of the original investment regardlessof

stockmarket performance.

If the FTSE 100 index rises or remains at the same level over the term,

investors will receive a return of 35 per cent gross, which equates to an

annual rate of 6.16 per cent.

The minimum investment is £500 and maximum £500,000.

Investments must be made before March 6 and will be put into a feeder

account earning interest of 6 per cent gross until the bond&#39s start date of

March 20. There are no initial or admin charges.

Head of marketing Alan Long says: “The bond is the perfect way to invest in

the FTSE, with the opportunity to earn a high return while giving peace of

mind, knowing the original investment is secure regardless of how the

stockmarket performs.”
