Bridgewater Equity release appoints Peter Couch as md

Bridgewater Equity Release the home reversions firm is appointing Peter Couch as managing director.

Previously managing director for AMP Retirement Services and latterly an independent consultant specialising in equity release, Couch is also appointed director of equity release for Grainger Trust’s group-wide equity release products.

Couch spent 10 years at AMP, during which time he fulfilled a number of roles. Following his departure from AMP, Couch set up his own consultancy business specialising in equity release.

Couch says: “There are a lot of challenges for home reversion providers and in order to be a market leader, a company must have answers, in particular, to the questions around funding and distribution. Bridgewater is in the enviable position of having both; a flexible product offering with the financial support of one of UK’s most successful property based plc’s. As a result, I see massive opportunity for Bridgewater to take on a much bigger share of the UK home reversion market.”

“I also recognise great potential in setting up partnerships with other distributors to boost Bridgewater’s standing within the market and intend to further investigate opportunities for the purchase of portfolios to support this drive for development.”
