Brewin head of regulation Barry Howard exits

Brewin Dolphin head of regulation and risk Barry Howard has left the firm.

Howard was involved in overseeing regulatory changes over the past decade including the firm’s implementation of RDR, making a “significant contribution” to the firm.

Prior to joining Brewin Dolphin as group compliance officer in 2002, Howard was head of compliance at StockAcademy.

The Brewin Dolphin board of directors has appointed compliance and risk consultant David Young as an interim replacement.

Brewin Dolphin chief executive officer David Nicol says: “I would like to thank Barry Howard for his hard work and commitment to Brewin Dolphin and to wish him well for the future.”

Earlier today Brewin Dolphin also announced the appointment of John Beale as regional training & competency manager, having joined from Pi Financial.
