Bonham Carter to step down from Jupiter chief exec role

Edward Bonham Carter is to step aside from his role as Jupiter group chief executive with Maarten Slendebroek taking over the position from next March.

Bonham Carter will remain on the Board as vice chairman, reporting to Slendebroek.

Slendebroek joined the Jupiter board last September as executive director responsible for distribution and strategy and was previously international retail head at Blackrock

Bonham Carter says: “It has been a privilege to lead Jupiter during the past 14 years. The Company is well positioned for growth and it is the right time for me to hand over the reins. I have enjoyed working with Maarten since his arrival and he has the skills and qualities to take the Company through the next stage of its growth. I look forward to helping the team execute Jupiter’s strategy in my new role.”

Slendebroek says “Jupiter is a great business with a strong brand and culture, and a record of investment outperformance. We have been gaining traction with a broader range of clients in the UK and internationally in recent years and I am delighted to have the opportunity to build this growth strategy out further, working with my colleagues in order to deliver value for our clients and shareholders.”
