Bob Young, a founding director of Wilcox Young and a well known figure in the personal finance industry, has died.
He died on March 8 after failing to recover from a major heart operation.
Bob, 57, had been responsible for running Wilcox Young's Southampton office since it opened in 1986.
He was a council member of IFA Care for the last two years.
He began his career with Norwich Union in 1960 before becoming an IFA in the late 1970s, specialising in pensions and investments.
Bob was a frequent writer for Money Marketing over the years, contributing on a regular basis to the Independent View and Best Advice columns.
Wilcox Young spokesman Chris Olding says: “Bob was very well known and liked throughout the industry. He will be sadly missed.”
IFA Care chairman Graham Fidoe says: “Bob leaves behind many sad colleagues and clients and it is a tragedy for his family. It is a great loss for the profession.”
