BNY Mellon appoints Gartmore’s Paul Feeney

BNY Mellon Asset Management has appointed former Gartmore head of distribution Paul Feeney.

As BNY Mellon head of distribution for international business, Feeney will be responsible for wholesale sales and client services in the UK, Europe and Latin America and will lead the distribution and development of the firm’s onshore and offshore fund ranges. Feeney will also head a push into central and Southern Europe.

Feeney was a main board director at Gartmore and played a key role in the MBO which took place in 2006. Prior to this he was chief executive of RBS Group’s branded private banks.

BNY Mellon Chief executive officer Alan Mearns says: “I’m pleased to welcome Paul to our international management team. His industry experience and background will help us continue the growth of our asset management businesses in Europe.”

Feeney says: “BNY Mellon Asset Management’s unique multi-boutique model offers wholesale and institutional investors a range of world class alpha strategies. In joining this company I see huge potential for growth and continuing the success that the group has experienced up to now.”
