Birmingham Midshires takeover gets final go-ahead

Birmingham Midshires Building Society takeover by Halifax has been given the go-ahead by the Building Societies Commission.


According to the Society&#39s public relations manager Lee Smith, it is now full steam ahead to the official takeover on April 19.


The Society is set to retain its own products and the Birmingham Midshires brand name. It will also maintain its ties to Axa Sun Life for the forseeable future.
