Better Retirement Group directors launch RDR advice website

Better Retirement Group directors Billy Burrows and Tim Eadon have launched The Retirement Academy, a website designed to provide advisers with help and support on retirement advice issues ahead of the retail distribution review.

The academy, which will also run seminars for advisers, has been set-up with financial and practical support from MGM Advantage, Prudential and LV=.

The website includes online annuity and drawdown calculators, a directory of product providers, presentations of retirement issues and a technical Q&A section.

Burrows says: “There are two things that we really want to do here. The first is a series of masterclasses with various insurance companies offering IFAs the chance to share our insights into advising clients.

“We are also looking to help IFAs prepare for the RDR. We will take questions from advisers about how the RDR will impact on annuities and drawdown.

“It is about making sure advisers have a place they can go to get impartial retirement information and technical support which will help them deliver the best possible outcomes for their clients.”

Addidi Wealth director Anna Sofat says: “Any source of technical information and support will be useful to supplement advisers’ knowledge of retirement issues.”
