Berkeley Berry Birch adds four to its top team

Berkeley Berry Birch has made four major additions to its senior management team to fill gaps left by departures.

Former Inter-Alliance marketing director Carey Shakespeare joins as group marketing director while former Professional Mort-gage Network managing director Dale Knight joins as director of mortgages.

Former BBB non-executive director Nicholas Davenport, who has 30 years’ experience in the industry, becomes executive director and chief executive of the insurance division and Steve Conley joins as head of product development. Conley’s responsibilities will include development of gap-filling solutions for BBB’s product range, including wrap and Sipp products. He has over 20 years’ experience in financial services and worked at Abbey on developing its wrap.

Deputy chairman Bill Main stepped down in January after only three months in the job, together with finance director Craig Butcher and non-executive director Kevin Higginson.

Chairman Cliff Lockyer says: “The wealth of experience makes these valuable additions to the senior management team and they will play an important role in the growth of the company.”
