Barings appoints head of Asian equities

Baring Asset Management has appointed Colin Ng to the new position of head of Asian equities.

Reporting to head of Asia Pacific investment Henry Chan, Ng will be responsible for the range of regional Asian and single country funds excluding those focused on China.

He joins from MFC Global Investment Management where he headed the Asia Pacific equities team. Prior to that, he was head of Asia ex-Japan at UOB Asset Management and lead manager on the group’s core Asia ex-Japan and Greater China mandates.

 Barings head of equities Tim Scholefieldsays in a statement that Asian equities have been a core focus for Barings and continue to be so.
