Barclays Wealth is reissuing its Super Tracker structured product with an option for investors to link to the S&P 500.
The Super Tracker runs over a three or a five-year term and gives geared exposure to the FTSE 100. It offers investors four times the first 12.5% rise in the index up to a maximum return of 50%, while the five-year option offers four times the first 25% rise in the FTSE with a maximum return of 100%.
The new S&P 500 option will be available on the five-year version of the product from May 9. It will offer four times the first 22.5% rise in the index, up to a maximum return of 90%.
All three versions of the plan guarantee to repay investors’ full capital unless the index falls more than 50% during the term and remains lower than its starting level at maturity. If this happens capital is lost in a ratio of 1:1 with the index.
The group says the product is being launched in response to demand from advisers it surveyed who expressed interest in an America-linked protected investment.
