Return: 65% of the growth in the Barclays volatility strategy

Protection: Original capital retuned in full at the end of the term regardless of the performance of the index

Closing date: April 8, 2011, March 25, 2011 for Isa transfers

Commission: Initial 3%



Inflation hits 4% in January

Consumer prices index inflation hit 4 per cent in January, up from 3.7 per cent in December, according to the Office for National Statistics The ONS cited the price of crude oil and the rise in VAT as the two main factors behind the move, which puts inflation well above the Bank of England’s target.
