Barclays picks Assureweb

Barclays has selected Assur-eweb as the portal to be used by its 800 financial planning advisers who previously used The Exchange.

It is the second-biggest deal from the portal since it was bought by five providers in July. It says a number of deals are also in the pipeline.

Assureweb will provide a comparative quotation and client-specific illustrations service to Barclays’ advisers and allow them to submit new business applications online.

The deal will offer a new sales tool from Focus Solutions.

Assureweb director of product marketing Stephen Wynne-Jones says: “Winning an account as prestigious as Barclays is a major coup for Assureweb and a real vote of confidence. Barclays was impressed with the solution that Assureweb offers, harnessing our ability to produce fully tailored illustrations – something no other portal can do for all the products on offer.”

Barclays Financial Planning commercial director Stephen Ingledew says: “Assureweb showed it had the capability to power the Barclays’ e-vision within the timescales needed, ensuring our advisers have the tools to make our new Select Choice financial planning advice service as customer-focused as possible.”
