Barclays launches tracker mortgage

Barclays is launching a base rate tracker mortgage with rates starting at 5.75 per cent.


The bank says rates on the mortgage will be only one per cent above the Barclays base rate which normally tracks the Bank of England base rate.


The bank is offering four mortgages pegged to between 0.75 and 0.99 per cent above the base rate depending on the amount borrowed.


The mortgage is available on loans above £60,000.
