Barclays is offering West Midlands home buyers a free three-year guarantee against problems that could arise after they have moved in.

The lender says it will cover home buyers in the West Midlands, who arrange their mortgage and survey through them, against any hidden defects that arise in the first three years that were not noted in the survey.

The scheme is being launched as the result of Barclays&#39 research in conjunction with surveyors Allied and Countrywide. It goes nationwide next year.
