Bambos Hambi joins Standard Life Investments

Bambos Hambi, the former head of multi-manager funds at both Gartmore and Rothschilds, has joined Standard Life Investments on a full-time basis.

Since August, Hambi has worked on a temporary consultancy basis for Insynergy Investment Management and a fund selection governance committee at Standard Life.

He will join SLI on a full-time basis on March 28 and have overall responsibility for the portfolio management of 15 funds in SLI’s new MyFolio funds offering. These funds are currently managed on an interim basis by Jacqueline Kerr, the head of UK wholesale at SLI.

Reporting to Rod Paris, the head of investments, Hambi will work alongside Alan Scrimger, who heads up SLI’s multi-manager research function.

The MyFolio funds are a suite of risk-based portfolios which offer a choice of active or passive investment strategies across five risk levels.

Hambi says: “I believe that MyFolio Funds represents a real step change in the investment solutions currently on offer to advisers and clients.”
