Back to the Future

One MM hack had blonde moment at The Future of Life Assurance conference last week when, after registering for what she thought was the correct meeting, she walked into a conference room surrounded by a sea of film cameras, press, photographers and delegates.

Expecting to see Ned Cazalet speaking, she was surprised to find that the speaker was, in fact, the European Commissioner for Education and she had stumbled into the Bologna fifth Ministerial Conference.

Later that day, the same hack was in the lift at the Queen Elizabeth II conference centre when the doors opened and Pru chief executive Mark Tucker and his entourage entered the lift on his way to address shareholders at Pru’s AGM. Crammed into a corner, the hack covered her name badge and strained to hear any gems of information.

Unfortunately, Tucker and his entourage remained tight-lipped on the business front and talked about fairly mundane topics.
