Axa Investment Managers picks Maddock to lift sales

Axa Investment Managers has appointed Tony Maddock as its director of retail sales.

Maddock will be based in London and a core part of his role will be to develop further intermediary and third-party relationships and manage the retail sales and broker services team. He will report to head of UK retail and Axa multi-manager Simon Ellis.

He will also be responsible for the growth of Axa IM’s funds under management through sales of its mutual fund range in the UK.

Maddock will be working alongside Michael Lynch who was recently appointed as new business development manager. Maddock joins from BNP Paribas Asset Management, where he was head of sales and marketing. He was previously with Prudential for eight years, with three years as head of investment sales.

Ellis says: “We are delighted to have recruited such a senior and experienced sales director. The additions of Tony and Michael complete our retail management team. With our combined experience of over 60 years in the retail fund industry, we are confident that we can understand and meet the requirements of today’s rapidly changing market.”


Aviva moves to embedded value

Aviva will report its preliminary corporate results under the European embedded value principles instead of on an achieved profit basis for the first time this March.

Cofunds replaces Andrews

Fund supermarket Cofunds has announced Mark Jones as replacement for marketing director Rick Andrews.Jones joined Cofunds in January 2004 and will take over from Andrews, who has agreed to step down, from 1 February.Andrews is helping Jones in the handover. Jones will keep his existing role of product development director.
