Axa cuts protection rates

Axa has revised rates for its protection range, cutting 37 per cent of premiums.

The covers affected are level and decreasing life cover and level and decreasing guaranteed life or earlier critical illness cover. The average reduction is 6 per cent.
Director of protection marketing Iain Mallon says the new rates are on par with the most competitive in the market.

He says: “As part of our continuous review of our pricing we have brought down the cost of these covers to make sure we remain one of the most competitively priced protection insurers.”


Reversion comes to the fore

It is perhaps unwise to look back to last year to deliver any thoughts on the current state of the mortgage market but there is one sector that has been fundamentally changed by events which took place a little over a year ago that are not related to the credit crunch.
